Relationship Talk With Bukky: She’s hot tempered, nags all the time but I don’t want to leave her

My girlfriend does not love me as I love her

I just want to be sure I am not doing the wrong thing.

Dear Bukky

There is this lady I love very well to the extent that I’m even planning to marry her, a plan of which she knows.

We started the relationship last year February and from the very beginning, I have noticed that she is hot tempered and nags very much.

I have been correcting her ever since then but nothing seems to change no matter how hard I try. What should I do about that because I don't want to leave her despite the fact that most of my friends are even advising me to do so.

Dear reader,

Here’s the thing; chances that she would change after one year are slim and become slimmer with every passing tantrum she throws.

If you have spent that long trying to change her to no avail, that might be the red flag people are always warned about and you should pay extra attention to it.

So I will ask one question: what if she never changes? Would you be willing to spend the rest of your life handling that kind of issue? Do you think your love is strong enough to overlook something as worrisome as this forever?

If you think that is what you like and wouldn’t mind sticking with till the end of time, it’s OK to be with her.

But just so we are clear, those behaviours are toxic for your relationship and the fact that all the communication and complaints have not been able to draw a change from her makes it even worse.
