One of Africa’s longest serving leaders has just gotten a brand new wardrobe and boy does he look like a new man, clearly clothes maketh the man!

Uganda’s
President Yoweri Museveni almost looked unrecognizable after donning a brand
new fitting jacket that he was gifted by Ethiopian prime minister, Abiy Ahmed
Ali.

The
Ethiopian Prime Minister paid President Museveni a visit at statehouse before
his departure and the two exchanged gifts as he wrapped up his two-day state
visit to Uganda.

tweeps liked and congratulated the Ugandan leader famous for his cowboy hats
and oversized suits.

“Looking
good in that jacket,”
Tabu Joe
tweeted.

“For a
second, i thought u were 45…u should wear such more often! Age will be just a
number! “

mindset from the old to new. “

indeed a new generation jacket.”

Mr. Ali’s
gift to Museveni  is nothing new however, the art of gifting heads of
state dates back to colonial times when Missionaries used to bring gifts to
African leaders of the time to  capture their hearts ahead of their lands.
The French and the British have since perfected the soft power diplomacy and
deploy it on foreign visits.

The
designer Jacket comes in the wake of the Ethiopian PM being honoured with the
Most Excellent Order of the Pearl of Africa medal, Uganda’s highest accolade
given to a head of state at a special National Heroes Day by President Yoweri
Kaguta Museveni.

According
to the statehouse, the award is in recognition of Abiy’s immense contribution
to the independence struggle of Africa.

Uganda’s
Heroes’ Day is celebrated every year on June 9 in memory of those who
sacrificed their lives in order to restore peace and security to the country.

The only
other African leader to be conferred this honour is Equatorial Guinea
president, Teodoro Obiang Mbasogo.
