Weeks after the death of his son, D’banj has taken to instagram yet again to announce he’s ready to perform in not so much as words but in a post he shared.
With the post, D’banj confirmed he will be performing alongside Beyonce, Jay-z, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and others at the Global Citizen Festival coming up later in December this year.
He posted the banner of the concert with the caption in relation to the theme of the concert that read,
- anniebabiereal: Bangalee. The Lord is your strength n he shall restore your loss in a trillion folds. He shall give you double for your trouble just keep believing in him. Keep the fire burning Love you from way back Koko master
- tunjai100: Your name is Dapo, we know you as D’banj! IS not a lie. God is with you baba ! Praying for you on a daily.
It shows the singer is gradually snapping out of mourning from the sudden and painful death of his one-year-old son, Daniel. It appears he is finally ready to take the stage again.
This comes after taking a hiatus and rightly so, to grieve but came back on social media to post a thank you message to family, fans and friends for their support in the obviously difficult time.
Only to take another, and come back today to post about his readiness and excitement to be performing at the concert, the first ever to be held in Africa.
The December event is the culmination of Global Citizen’s “Mandela 100” campaign in partnership with the House of Mandela; a series of global events honouring the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela in his centenary year.
We can’t tell you how happy we are for Koko Master’s return and on such occasion irrespective of his tremendous loss, we don’t know how he does it.
Keep your eyes glued on our website,to be informed about new development concerning him and his family as we have been doing in the last couple of weeks.
