Jose Chameleon pleads with Museveni to pardon Bobi Wine

Ugandan musician Jose Chameleon has pleaded with President Yoweri Museveni to pardon Bobi Wine.

The Kyaddondo East area member of parliament was arrested on Monday, after chaos erupted at a rally in Arua municipality, Northern Uganda.

Several journalist were injured during the chaos that left Bobi Wine’s driver dead after he was allegedly shot by police.

A bullet Bobi Wine claims was meant for him.

According to Uganda’s police spokesperson, Angucia Josephine, Bobi Wine is being charged with treason, unlawful possession of fire arms and malicious damage of motor vehicles in presidential convoy.

In the lengthy letter Chameleon argues that Bobi Wine treaded the path of aggressiveness like a young ambitious man citing that Wine has always exhibited leadership admiration.

“I as a son of this nation on behalf of the slogan. “For God and my Country” With all honor beg you the President to symbolize forgiveness in such a time. We can all wrong but better the forgiver. Mr. President, you are a Father, Parent and always forgiving one. We shall all remain calm and be hopeful that the coming developments will see us all live harmoniously and have a peaceful country henceforth,” read the letter in part.

Ugandan Deputy Prime minister Moses Ali told the parliament that Bobi Wine was receiving treatment at a military hospital, north of Uganda town of Gulu amidst family claims that Bobi was in perfect health before his arrest.
