It’s hardly a flattering comparison, but Kylie Jenner saw the funny side when a picture of an egg beat her most-liked Instagram record on Sunday.
Only posted last week – by the account World Record Egg – the simple photo of an egg on a plain background quickly surpassed the 18.1 million ‘likes’ required to steal the crown from the makeup mogul.
The 21-year-old reality star took the title when she shared the first picture of newborn daughter Stormi back in February.
On Sunday evening, Egg Gang – as the account has named itself – went from 14 million likes to 18million in under three hours.
The Egg became the first non-human in Instagram’s top 20 most-liked posts as celebrities such as Beyonce and Selena Gomez usually hold the top spots.
Kylie responded with a very racy photo of herself in an animal print bodice. She captioned the saucy snap: ‘Oh… Hi nice to see you again!’.
A vintage video of herself cracking an egg on the gravel soon followed with the caption: ‘Kylie when she sees the world record egg account.’
‘Take that egg!’ wrote Kylie.
With her trademark brunette tresses pulled back and a set of retro shades framing her face, Kylie stooped over to crack the egg.
One person who will know how Kylie feels is her sister Kendall Jenner. The 22-year-old had the most liked Instagram picture of all time back in 2015.
Back then 3.1million likes was all it took for the image of the model lying on her back with a complicated hair do to win out.
