DP Ruto under siege
Deputy President William Ruto has come under heavy criticism after photos of him launching an ICT Resource centre with obsolete computers surfaced.
Photos taken at the launch of the facility in Sambirir Girls Secondary school in Marakwet East constituency shows the DP accompanied by a host of leaders inspecting a computer lab with very old machines.
Netizens were quick to point out that even after Sh 18 Million were pumped into the project, what was presented was junk.
Others alleged that the DP had presided over the launch of a computer museum instead of an IT center due to the old computers captured in the photos.
His host Elgeyo Marakwet senator however pointed out that the plan was to phase out the old computers and replace them with modern ones.
Halafu one computer lacks a mouse, the other lacks a keyboard. Mnatubebaga ufala aje? Why did u buy CRT monitors in the age of TFTs? These computers I bet are pentium 3 atleast. Where did you collect them? Vincent Wangosho tweeted.
Below are more reactions from netizens who were clearly not amused.
