Ivy Wangechi’s father reveals details on her life with conflicting accounts emerging
Murdered Moi University student Ivy Wangechi’s father George Githui has spoken fo the first time since the gruesome murder of her daughter, delving into her controversial lifestyle that has dominated discussions in recent days.
In an interview with the Standard, Mr. Wainaina refuted claims that her daughter was a slay queen, living a lavish lifestyle financed by men including the killer husband whi claimed that he had invested emotionally and financially in the deceased.
He further dismissed allegations that Ivy was infected with HIV/AIDS and had infected her killer boyfriend Naftali Kinuthia with the same.
“Please help me clean my daughter’s name. She was a decent, hardworking girl. The stories being circulated about her infecting her killer with HIV/Aids are untrue. This has been discounted by tests already done,” Githui said.
The family warned that they will not take anymore of the rumours going on, stating that if feels like Ivy is being murdered for the second time and appealed to the media to help in defending the honour of the deceased.
“Ivy was brought up in a strict Christian background and is a very honest person. Her character cannot be questioned. She is a victim of a brutal murder and should not be vilified.” Asserted Mr. Githui.
Relationship with Naftali Kinuthia
A distraught Mr. Githui clarified that Ivy had not introduced any suitor dismissing claims by Kinuthia’s family that the deceased was in a relationship ith their killer son.
Wangechi’s met her death on Tusday after she was hacked to death by her childhood friend as she walked outside Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) Eldoret.

In his testimony to police in Eldoret, Kinuthia claimed he had invested money and emotions in the woman, but his love and financial kindness wasn’t reciprocated as per his expectations.
“The accused said he used to send the woman some money. The girl, according to the suspect, had told him that she was organising her birthday party, which would happen soon. He said he sent her some money to arrange the event. Since then, the woman refused to pick his calls, said the suspect. That is what prompted him to travel [from Thika] to Eldoret. He said he wanted to know why she was ignoring him,” Eldoret East DCI boss, Ali Kingi divulged.
Kinuthia was discharged from Hospital on Friday where he had been admitted after irate members of the public attacked him shortly after commiting the heinous act.
